I've always felt ambivalent about Fall. On one hand, it is absolutely wonderful, an explosion of colors and very pleasant weather… but it is also filled with angst. Despite it's beauty, deep down inside, I know that Winter is just around the corner. Oh! well, that's one of the reasons why it makes me feel so nostalgic…

These scenics were shot over a couple of days in Monteregie, south of Montreal. In fact, most of them were taken a few minutes away from the US border.

Every year, at the end of Summer, thousands of Montrealers and visitors alike are getting together to partake in a very popular collective endorphin Fix at the Montreal's Marathon. This year was no different than previous years, except, maybe, for the coolish weather - ideal for this type of event. Based on the number of participants, organizers are labelling this year's marathon their most successful event to date.

Every Sunday afternoon between May and September, Montrealers from all walks of life come together at the foot of Mount-Royal to drum, dance or simply enjoy the rhythms in the air. This weekly festival, because of it's originality, has helped shape Montreal's identity by celebrating its open-minded and cosmopolitan nature. «Les Tam-tams du Mont-Royal», as this event is known, began at the end of the 1970's and is now a solid Montreal Tradition.

Shot with a Sony XDCAM EX3 and edited on FCP. Minor color corrections with FCP Color Corrector 3-ways. Some slow-motion shots were processed on Motion using the «optical flow» setting
